Hello, I’m Atoya, the founder of Ladies Playbook. Having spent 11 incredible years in the NFL alongside my husband, our journey took us to three different teams and cities. This unique experience allowed me to forge meaningful relationships and deepen my passion for empowering women.

We’ve just returned from a remarkable retreat in Nevis, and I’m excited to share the inspiring experiences and connections we’ve made.
We partnered with the Nevis Tourism Authority and the Four Seasons Nevis to create a truly welcoming experience filled with rich cultural encounters and lasting friendships. Nevis is a hidden gem, and while we’d love to keep it our little secret, we can’t help but share this perfect getaway destination with you!
Nevis boasts a fascinating history that dates back to the 1400s, including English colonization and being the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a taste of history, Nevis has it all! The island continues to celebrate its heritage through a variety of events throughout the year, showcasing its delicious cuisine, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Don’t miss the Mango Festival or Carnival for an authentic Nevisian experience!
The Hidden Gem
The Four Seasons Nevis is one of the most tranquil resorts we’ve ever experienced, providing the ultimate luxury getaway. From spacious rooms with private lanais to a range of dining options, pools, and activities, you’ll feel right at home with staff who treat you like family. The Nevis Tourism Authority and Four Seasons set the bar high for our inaugural retreat, making it an experience of a lifetime.
Now that Nevis is no longer our secret, let’s dive into the incredible experiences we shared!
Upon arrival, we were greeted at the airport by Kayan Jet and whisked away to their private lounge while we awaited our water taxi from Saint Kitts to Nevis. Enjoying refreshments and delicious meals after a long journey was just the beginning! We docked directly at the Four Seasons Nevis Resort, where the staff welcomed us with refreshing coconut water—what a treat! Our first evening was spent enjoying drinks and appetizers on the Sundowners Pier, where we had the honor of meeting the Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley. We expressed our gratitude for his warm welcome to the island before savoring a stunning dinner on the beach, complete with a curated menu and live music. What a fantastic way to kick off our retreat!
Reset and Recharge in Paradise
Our first morning in paradise began with yoga on the pier, helping us reset and recharge for the days ahead. We spent the morning exploring the Four Seasons property, indulging in the spa, and enjoying pickleball. After working up an appetite, we ventured to a local favorite, Sunshines! Each of us tried something different from the menu, but we unanimously agreed that the Killer B’s were a must-have! When you visit Nevis, make sure to stop by Sunshines and treat yourself to one of these delightful drinks.
Next, we embarked on the Hamilton Tour, where we immersed ourselves in the history of Nevis and the remarkable life of Alexander Hamilton. Understanding our roots and appreciating our past enriches our present, and Nevis beautifully shared its culture with us. We wrapped up the evening dining at On The Dune, where we enjoyed another curated menu and spectacular views!
insideLINES 1st International Podcast
Our second day was a highlight for all. We partnered with the Nevis Tourism Authority, The Four Seasons, Kayan Jet, Ladies Playbook, and insideLINES Podcast to host our first international podcast. Our incredible Ladies Playbook Ambassadors led discussions on finance, entrepreneurship, real estate, social media, and motherhood, while 25 local women joined us, sharing their insights and experiences. This panel will be one of the most cherished memories from our trip!
The excitement continued as we explored another local spot, Bananas, nestled in the lush greenery of Nevis. We were treated to more delicious local cuisine before dining at Mill Privee, a breathtaking restaurant tucked away in an old sugar mill, which was nothing short of magical.
Fun In The Sun
After many fun-filled days, we set sail on a catamaran, exploring the crystal-clear waters of Nevis. Once we docked in a secluded cove, we jumped overboard to fully appreciate the island’s stunning natural beauty. Words alone cannot capture the magic of Nevis—it’s something you must experience for yourself! After our adventure, we unwound with spa treatments, massages, and relaxing poolside. We were also delighted by Destiny’s Jumping Clowns, who shared their love of dance and taught us some moves. This perfectly rounded out our experience, celebrating sisterhood and female empowerment. We capped off our retreat with a vibrant dinner at Mango, surrounded by live music, decadent food, and dancing! We weren’t ready to say goodbye, so we made sure to savor every moment.
On our final morning, we took some time to reflect on our life-changing experiences. The Ladies Playbook retreat empowered us to move forward, support one another, and embrace the year ahead. Buckle up, ladies—it’s go time!
